For numbers bigger than 999, in Chinese we use (read as "qiān ")to represent thousand. It applies the same rule of how hundred and ten are read in Chinese. For example, number 1234 is read as yì qiān liǎng bǎi sān shí sì(Why is it "liǎng bǎi" instead of "èr bǎi ", I will tell you in detail later.)

For numbers bigger than 9999, we put (simplified , read as "wàn") for ten thousand.  Same rules applied when reading it. For example, guess how 56789 is read in Chinese? - wǔ wàn liù qiān qī bǎi bā shí jiǔ

Thank you for watching and reading.
