多少錢duō shǎo qián ? means How much is it? If you want to ask in a polite way, please add 請問qǐng wèn  before the question. 請問多少錢 qǐng wèn duō shǎo qián may not be as low profile as "May I know the price of it?" intead it sounds like “Can you tell me the price of it?” or “ Please tell me how much it is.”
